CROSSROADS TOWN CENTER—WHERE THE PAST MEETS THE FUTURET
. . . a creative office park inspired by historic precedents from the early architecture of Wimberley and the surrounding rural areas. Research revealed what early Wimberley was like . . .

Downtown Wimberley during a cattle drive |

A residence, livery, old mill and
other
commercial buildings |
. . . its mix of building types . . . the loose scattering of early buildings . . . early photographs showing downtown Wimberley with a herd of cattle being rounded up for a trail drive and another with a herd of angora goats being rounded up for shearing or sale.
| Photographs of the Winter House informs many of the designs. |

Winters House (1856) |
Several of the buildings are based on specific edifices from early photographs . . . the old mill and an old commercial building on the town square, which had buildings on two adjacent sides . . . the other two sides were not developed. |
The Wimberley palette of materials - local limestone, local mortar, wood shingles, steep roofs, corrugated steel roofing, shady covered walkway, storefronts, rugged wood siding- was recreated and recombined in interesting ways to recall historic Wimberley. |
